PBR Invitational in Hampton

We had such fun at the bull riding event in Hampton.
Clint took me out for a seafood dinner.
At the Coliseum, we had close parking and good seats.
Seeing the bull riders in person was awesome and we both enjoyed ourselves.
My voice is a little hoarse this morning!

The last rider of the night was hurt. He could not move and was shuddering pretty bad with what I assume was a spinal injury.
He never got up and we were told to leave. I tried to learn more this a.m. but could not find anything.
If you will, say a prayer for him.
UPDATE: A friend of mine who also went stayed long enough to see the rider up and walking around. PTL!

Redneck Spelling

Posted by Picasa
I took this picture last night in my neighborhood.
Posted later: Evidently "Congrations" is a new abbreviation. I am so unhip! :-) Still doesn't give them an excuse for the "piece" sign!

God Is Great!

James is doing much better! He was airlifted to another hospital where they diagnosed him with a UTI & prostate infection. His body responded to the antibiotics and he may go home Thursday!

Thank you for your prayers!

Itchin' for Spring

I am longing for warm and sunny days. We have been flooded with rain for the last week. There are now ponds in the front yard and all of a sudden, I want to go muddin' in a big ole 4 wheel drive.

There are many things I enjoy about this time of year. I love watching the drab brown yard turn that beautiful spring green. The flowers, baby animals, return of the birds and outdoor activities make it special.

Every spring, the swallows fly in circles around my head as I hang out clothes on the line. This is their yearly greeting to let me know they are back home and ready to build new nests in the big horse barn. They started doing this after Clint and I killed a black snake that ate their babies in their nest.

I also can't wait to hear the children's laughter coming through the open windows. What a precious sound!

We have a special friend in "high places" we look forward to seeing too. A pilot will wiggle the wing of his private airplane at us when we wave. He's been flying over us almost daily for 14 years this spring. He came by the house one time when he was looking at the land beside ours and told me he's a country music songwriter which is how he has the money to fly so often. I wish I had remembered his name now, but what impressed me wasn't what he did or who he knew. He was such a down to earth, easy going, friendly gentleman. I look forward to working outside just so I can see him enjoying the view of the river from his plane.

My dear fuzzy friend is gone, but I have a new one who needs to learn how to play tag with the family.

Hurry spring! This dreary weather is hard on an outdoor lovin' country gal.

Missin' Home?

The "mess" Peace made on your blanket.
We have no idea still of how she got in the house.

They'll grow before you get home to them.

Caleb & Shanee

Here's the gang except Hannah who was sleeping.
As you can tell Emily was late for her nap...really late. :-)

We're missing you both very much and are looking forward to Sat a.m.!!!

This is for Brandon and Clint who are away from home and can't get picts thru their e-mail.

When I Am On Bedrest

during a pregnancy, it is very hard for me. I can't do anything I want to do. I can't bathe my little ones or cook for my family. I can't go places or see people. I can't play, sing, dance, exercise, etc. The house gets dirty. I mean filthy. I can't stand a dirty house. Imagine leaving your home to six children who are home all day!

So, here I am again, trying to catch up on things that need me NOW! It's hard. I am struggling to get it all done as soon as I can and still be Mom, Honey, cook, etc. I want to do it and get it behind me. I am going to have to settle for "sooner or later" because it isn't going to get done quick. There's too much of it and too little of me.

I need to get back into the habit of spending time alone with God. That's also hard to do because Hannah is still waking me up a lot at night so my days are still "newborn crazy." I know from experience that when that one thing is in place, the rest of my day, my life falls into place better. So I've got to make that time starting today. I won't worry so much. I won't feel so stressed. I won't mind the overwhelming to do list because I will be reminded daily that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me for this race I am running.

I do think motherhood is a race. We are racing against time to impart wisdom, knowledge and character into our precious blessings. Some days it seems more like a bumper car ride where you run into everything between you and your goal though. :-)

Hi Daddy and Big Brother

I am a little grungie from playing outside, but was smiling so big Mom couldn't resist taking my picture.
I miss you. I call for both of you and Mom reminds me of where you are.
She kept smiling and saying you were a "dog" yesterday when you called to rub it in about where you were and who you saw. :-D
We waved to you through the t.v.!!

We Finally Have Some Snow!

Spring was trying it's best!

It's too cold for me to use the main computer as we have this spare room closed off.
I don't want to use the heater to warm it up in here for the few minutes I'd be on the computer.
I'll do e-mail and catch up on the blog later.
