Dead Whale in Guinea

This juvenile Humpback whale corpse is 1/2 a mile from our home. No, we can't smell it, but our neighbors sure can.
We took the children down to look at it this afternoon for an impromptu homeschool science lesson!
We'll be learning about humpbacks and other whales tomorrow and comparing them to what we saw.
We were able to get quite close to it.

Crab Pot Contest Guinea Jubilee

Contestants had to pull two crab pots, empty crabs from them, bait, fasten the pot and then set it up right on the platform.

This guy was flyin'!

This man won three years in a row. Last year's time was 29 seconds!!!

Emily was more impressed with the crowd than with the contest! She also enjoyed the food. This is her third shirt of the day...and it has a stain on it too!

Guinea Jubilee

We were able to personally thank many of our neighbors for searching for Amanda at the Guinea Jubilee.

Our long time friend, Mr. West, holding Hannah and doing the baby dance! He is such a sweet man.
