Natural Bridge

Look at the size of the people for perspective.
Pictures never do this beauty justice.

There is a free shuttle bus ride that will drive you down to the entrance of the bridge and save you the steep walk. Hannah was so tired on the way back; we rode it out.Photobucket
This village is along the walk to the salt peter mine, the Lost River, and Lace Falls.
Cedar Creek Nature Trail is a long hike for younger children and the elderly. Depending on the weather some places can be wet, muddy, and slippery. It is a very pretty walk and a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Bethany is 8 and can already cook. She surprised the interpreter by telling her the corn cake was burning.

Hands on fun!

ATIs are what these dwellings were called.

Our boys enjoyed talking to this man. He told them how to make arrow heads, arrows, bows, dwellings, axes, and more.

We stopped to play! I told a grandmother with two energetic boys about this "burn off their energy" area on our way out. She was so thankful!!
We also watched a young otter come out of its den, catch a fish, and then scurry back.
I would love to camp somewhere like this where my children can play to their hearts' content.Photobucket
My favorite part of Natural Bridge was worshipping the Lord with my family surrounded by His beautiful creation during the evening light show. The show was in two parts. The sound quality was poor in some parts, but it was still a nice experience. We had a rude and loud spectator present at the same time, but Clint firmly and efficiently put an end to it when my more subtle request was ignored.
