Oh! The children had so much fun using the sluice box to look for gems! The Stonyman Mining Company Gem Sluice is part of the exhibit at the Luray Valley Museum. We purchased two large bags of sand that had gems in them, and let the children use the sluice box for some hands on learning. They had some nice finds including the large quartz crystal Bethany found.
