FTC looking into supply chain disruptions

FTC orders Walmart, Amazon, Kroger and more to turn over information on empty shelves, high prices

*****
Food is necessary for my family's survival and good health, so I have kept a close eye on the supply chain disruptions since the early days of the pandemic. It takes me only a couple of minutes a week to look over the posted pictures and read through the info the watch groups. I also have family and friends sharing what they see missing from shelves in our region of the country. This information has allowed me to help people who are dependent on certain products. I am an old-fashioned gal who believes in keeping a well-stocked pantry, so my household has done very well.
I have not seen widespread outages of nutritious food in the supply chain watch groups. What I am seeing is a short duration of sporadic shortages. Most of the shortages are convenience and processed foods. There has also been less of a choice in specific flavors and brands on some items. One area might be hit hard this week, but next week they have plenty in stock.
While certain processed foods are short in many areas, nutritious food can be found in a community, most of the time. When meat, dairy, or produce is limited in one store, it can be found in an abundance by going to a store down the road.
Now, that is generally speaking. There have been a few areas that have had shortages for weeks on a specific type of meat, dairy, or produce, but other nutritious options are always available there or elsewhere nearby. I have also seen some grocery stores that were shockingly bare for a week or a few weeks, but they were not like that for a lengthy period. I have studied other nations with significant food shortages and so far, I do not see anything that has me overly concerned. But, I will continue to monitor the situation.
My region is fairly insulated from the shortages, but we have seen some empty shelves and some hard-hit stores. It hasn't been anything as drastic as the pictures I've seen of other areas though. We have also seen a few specific things completely out of stock for months at a time like a particular cleaner I use. No biggie. I used something else. The imported sauce my family loves in the size I need has not been in stock in our local stores for months. I could buy a smaller size if I wanted. Instead, I ordered it online in bulk (12 quart-sized bottles) and will restock our dwindling supply in the pantry. That sauce and the cleaner are wants, not true necessities.
Clint recently said our local Family Dollar looked shockingly barren on his last visit, but the other stores in the area have plenty on the shelves. My three youngest daughters just went shopping for clothing, coats, and shoes and had no problems getting what they needed.
I am not trying to downplay anyone's concerns about the supply chain issues. I know there are some bad, bad snarls in some product lines and in some industries. However, no one in our nation is starving because of the supply chain problem. People might not get what they want, but everyone seems to be getting what they need. Rising prices are more of a burden on our citizenry than supply chain issues. THAT has me very concerned, especially for our elderly population.
While no one in my family is on Rx meds, this is a concern for extended family and friends: https://www.drugs.com/drug-shortages/

Dollar Tree Raising Prices

Dollar Tree will raise all items to 1.25.

Most people will brush it off and think of it as only a quarter, but we should think of it as 25% inflation.

How We Celebrate Christmas and Why

 Originally posted Nov 29, 2015:

How We Celebrate Christmas and Why

We don't tell our children there is a Santa (or Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy). We celebrate Christ's birth in such a big way there isn't any room for Santa. The only Santa you will find in our home is one kneeling in front of a manger worshipping the best Gift the world has ever seen.

There is still wonder and excitement! Our children still count down the days and announce how many are left each morning! They take a long time to write wish lists! They still eagerly anticipate and can't sleep the night before. We make Wise Men Bags instead of stockings. We have a cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to Him. Every year, we make ornaments that reflect our beliefs. We view light shows keeping in mind that Jesus is the Light and encourages us to walk in truth. We attend events and worship in music all month in our home! Clint reads the Christmas story from Luke to us every year.

I make Christmas morning special by appealing to all of their senses. I use homemade potpourri to scent the house. I have Christmas music playing low. Sometimes I light candles. I have warm ham and turkey croissants on the table. The decorations are lit and the presents are arranged around it. Santa is so engraved in people's minds for Christmas due to our culture that they can't believe Christmas can be special without him!

We have taught them about the real St. Nicholas. He was quite a passionate man! We feel feisty old St. Nick with his strong beliefs would have slapped people in their face, much like he did Arius, for how they celebrate him in Christ's place today.

They also know about the difference between the myth of Santa and have been taught by us to respect others' beliefs and ways of celebration. They know of the accusations and hatred from other Christians that have been aimed at their father and me for celebrating Christmas with Christ and without Santa. Our children have repeatedly thanked us for making a stand for Truth over tradition.

As young parents, Clint and I felt this was the way the Lord was leading us to worship on Christmas. Our goal, every year, is to place Christ first and foremost. When Clint and I stand before the Lord, we don't want Him remembering how we squeezed Him in alongside something else but how we gave Him ALL of the room in our hearts and home.

I Peter 3:15 But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect

I John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

53 Years Closer

I can say pretty much the same as I did on preceding birthdays about this last circle around the sun. God has been so very good to me. I am healthy. I am abundantly blessed in many ways. He answered the prayers I asked last year on my birthday.

May He continue to grow me and use me for His glory.

If you would like to give me a gift for my birthday, share the gospel with someone today. Make it a priority.

This is brief because my family is in the final stages of yet another project. Maybe in another week or two, we will have completed another big job! I have not even had time to share about all that is going on in our lives. We stand in awe of His leading, timing, and provision! (To clarify, I was home for my birthday. I was away from home when I made the post.)

I am also away from home trying to run both home and several other ventures. I am also preparing to help move a household to another location. Life is moving along!

My love to all! Keep looking UP!

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12

Bitter Leaf Veronia Amygdalina

bitterleaf

This is an incredibly valuable medicinal plant that is widely used across the globe. I am so thankful to finally have my own plant! I just hope I can keep it alive until I can plant it outside next spring.

This little plant will grow to be around nine feet tall and is hard to kill. Once well established, it will supposedly live outside year-round in my Zone 7 climate. I was told I will have to protect it from the cold for a couple of years to get it to that point.

It treats liver disorders, malaria (possibly CoVid?), many gastrointestinal disorders, fevers, fertility issues, nausea, and more. There is scientific research on this plant available should you care to look it up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

 Happy Thanksgiving!
to our family and friends
near and far, old and new
close and estranged
You are loved!

Our family is gathering together to give thanks to the Lord, enjoy a feast, play some games together, and watch some movies.

I hope that wherever you are on this day, you take time to thank the Lord. No matter what is going on in the world, there is always something for which we can be thankful.

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

Young Eagle Hanging with the Vultures

eagle_young4

This young bald eagle was hanging out with the vultures sharing the trash they had stolen. I did not realize it was an eagle until I was going through the pictures.

I know this is a bald eagle from the white just starting to show around the neck and top of head and the bright yellow talons where the feathers stop further up the leg. Golden eagles are seen in my area sometimes in the winter, but it is considered rare.

This bald eagle is about a year to a year and a half old due to the lighter spot at the top of its head.

I do not know why, but I can be running our wood splitter, and bald eagles will start flying over my home.

Who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Sarah

Sarah, my "niece," will have her pacemaker battery change on the 29th. She has been passing out and having limb and chest pain. She has a congenital heart defect which means her physical heart is weaker than normal. However, she has such an incredibly strong spiritual heart for the Lord. It is truly a blessing to know her and see how God works in and through her. This is the mother of Walter the baby we requested many prayers for in the blog. Please pray for Sarah and her family.

Btw, Renee, my dear friend who had a bad vaccine reaction, is Sarah's mother.

Turkey Vulture

We saw about 100 turkey vultures on one of our local off-roading trips.

They were a ways from any road and had been stealing trash to eat what they could from it.

We watched their interesting behaviors for a while before moving on to the next discovery.

"How is it that more than 190 governments from all over the world ended up dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in almost exactly the same manner, with lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccination cards now being commonplace everywhere? The answer may lie in the Young Global Leaders school, which was established and managed by Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum, and that many of today’s prominent political and business leaders passed through on their way to the top."

Do you see a connection

to Revelation 13:15? https://bit.ly/3gBndFX

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Is this the beast of Revelation? I do not know. I am merely watching the events as Jesus commanded us to do so we'd know when His return is imminent.

Dear Reader, Are you paying close attention to what is going on? I implore you to repent and accept Jesus Christ's blood atonement for your sins. Then go live out your faith in Jesus through your words and actions.

IPG2 video and analyses

I have wondered for years now if I should share the IPG2 video but held off until now. As you watch it, keep in mind the IPG2 video was made around 2011/2012.

You can speed up the videos to 1.5 using the gear button to save yourself a little time.

https://taileaters.com/depth-psychology/i-pet-goat-2/ About the title: "The title IPG2 is thought to be a tribute to the children’s storybook The Pet Goat, which was read to George W. Bush by a class of children at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota County, Florida on September 11, 2001. While listening to the children recite parts of the story, President Bush was informed by White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps82OIXVVNY&ab_channel=IPetGoat2  This analysis is by Christian who believes it may be a "revelation" or satan's version of the end times. s copies God. Setting up his own church and "christ" in the end times are just a couple of examples. On the Psalms 23 graffiti, I disagree with the yellow brick road theory which becomes a rabbit hole in the video. That looks more like a lightning bolt. Psalms 23 is known as The Good Shepherd chapter. I have a couple of different theories about the meaning.

Here is another interpretation of IPG2 that overlaps some: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tclgtA2BABM&ab_channel=RonnyMontegerai

Original IPG2 video: https://youtu.be/65xLByzT1l0 The appearance and burning sacred heart on the chest of the man we see in the boat reference Jesus. However, this being is marked with evil symbols on the forehead, so Christians know this is the antichrist spoken of in Revelation.

The Grey Escape

greyescaping2

Bethany doesn't like for Grey to go outside.
He, however, does not care what she likes.

Recently, I heard a loud THUMP! on our front deck!

In my shock, I exclaimed, "WHO THREW SOMETHING OUT OF THE UPSTAIRS WINDOW?!!!!"

All of my younger girls came to me from the downstairs rooms, so I realized there was no one upstairs to throw something out. We looked out of the front door and saw Grey running away. (He's fine. Well, he has no injuries. We question his sanity though.)

Emily was laughing uncontrollably. It took her a couple of minutes to calm down enough to tell me through continuing laughter that she saw a "fast grey blur" out of the window. When I yelled my question, she wanted to answer me with "Grey threw HIMSELF out of the window," but she had already started laughing at an image of him picking himself up and hurling himself out the window.

I encouraged Bethany to give him time outside even if she has to put him in a rabbit run. He's obviously desperate for it.

Speak the Truth to Those You Love

"When we speak the truth in love to other believers, God uses our words as loving spurs. We encourage Christian brothers and sisters to “hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering” (Hebrews 10:23).

Yes, we need to point out sin (Galatians 6:1).

And a million times yes, we need to remind each other that God alone “satisfies the longing soul” (Psalm 107:9).

Joy in him is the key to a life of obedience.

...

To be a follower of Christ is to be a fountain. Whether we sit across the table from a believer or an unbeliever, love that images Christ will shower others with gospel truth.

Sometimes, people will bask.

Sometimes, they will recoil.

And yet, if we consider an eternity spent with God worth more than sparing ourselves “light momentary” discomfort (2 Corinthians 4:17),

then in love we will speak the truth." source

*****

REAL LOVE speaks the truth even when it might mean we could lose the relationship.

Today's Christians are wimpy. We avoid hard truths and want an easy ride. We don't want to offend anybody, but we ignore how the God we claim to serve is being offended.  We are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ. Are you representing well? When you see a Christian walking in sin, do you speak up with the Truth found in Scripture? Or, do you pretend not to see?

This world tickles our ears and puffs up our pride. God's Word is sharper than a double-edged sword and cuts right through to our minds and souls. It's powerful! It convicts and can change lives for eternity. God tells us His Word will accomplish His will

Will you boldly speak real love, godly love, into your loved ones' lives? Do you love them enough to do that?

This life is not a game. Time is short. Don't let them become a plaything for the evil in this world. Armor up! Fight back! Share the Word with love. Stand on God's Word. Pray continually. Watch God work. And, I know from experience, He will!

Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
I John 3:18

For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Two Young Hunters

pickuptruck

This past Saturday, Clint and I woke up early to do a little off-roading. Locally, we have close to 10,000 acres we are allowed to explore with our truck and through hiking. I wanted to look for wildlife and see the pretty foliage, so off we went.

Deep in the woods, we came across two young men who were hunting. They had hiked in about a mile. We stopped to speak with them for a few minutes. The young man was concerned we'd not be able to get around his truck where they had parked it, so he handed us his keys and told us we could move it.

When we got to the truck, we were astonished to see his wallet and other valuables which were inside of that big ole jacked-up truck with the loud exhaust. We moved the truck leaving everything untouched. We put his keys where he told us. I enjoyed the nature time, but it was very refreshing and encouraging to meet those young down-to-earth and trusting souls.

We left two gospel tracts inside for the young men.

Why would God take the Church off of the earth before

Why would God take the Church off of the earth before the Tribulation when that is when He needs them on the earth the most?!!! That does not make any sense!!!!! -Christine O.

I assume the rationale behind this question is that God needs the Church to evangelize during the Tribulation.

What we think or feel about something does not matter one bit. We base our beliefs on what is found in Scripture. Basing beliefs on opinions is a slippery slope that will gain us a lot of faulty thinking, disappointment, and maybe even embarrassment.

I grew up in a prophecy-rich environment at church, school, and home. I have been interested in prophecy ever since I came to know the Lord at 7 years old. I will turn 53 this month. I have spent approximately 80 hours this year on just the Rapture alone. I see no Biblical evidence of the church on earth in the Tribulation. Having diligently sought the Lord on the Rapture and end times, I firmly believe the Bible teaches the Church will be dwelling in Heaven for those seven years.

God is omnipotent. That means all-powerful. He says nothing is too hard for Him to do. Matthew 19:26. Can God fulfill His purpose in the Tribulation without the Church on earth? There is no doubt in my mind that He can.

What do you think will happen when the Church is taken from the earth? (link) Think about it, there are a lot of people, even in our churches, who have head knowledge who have not repented. Don't you think many of them will cry out to the Lord and be saved? Can the Lord use these Tribulation saints to grow His kingdom? I believe He will.

If you read the Bible understanding that God has a plan for Israel and one for the Church, it clarifies a lot of things. As a parent, I mostly correct each child individually but sometimes I deal with them in groups because of their ages, genders, abilities, or who is involved in a situation. The nation of Israel rejected Christ, but the Church accepted Him. Wouldn't He deal with them differently? Are angels (God's creation) and humans (also God's creation) treated differently? Yes, they are.  A one-plan-for-all approach does not work because a lot of prophecy Scripture doesn't fit. But, if you believe that God has a plan for Israel and one for the Church, suddenly those verses make sense. The Rapture will end the period of grace known as the Church Age. The Tribulation is going to test those who have not made a choice for Christ and will bring out the character of those left dwelling on the earth. The Church has already been tested by daily living. Every day, the Body of Christ makes choices to honor the Lord or satisfy the flesh. Every day, our character is being revealed by surrendering or rebelling to His ways.

***

If one believes:

  • Jesus' work on the cross was complete John 19:30
  • We (the Church) are not appointed to wrath I Thessalonians 5:9
  • that He will keep us from the hour of testing Revelation 3:10

How does one also believe the Church will be in the Tribulation?

***

Food for thought regarding Revelation 3:10:

Posttribulationalists say that “from” (ek) refers to the protection of the church within the Tribulation. Pretribulationlists understand it to mean preservation by being absent from the time of tribulation. One is internal protection (while living through the Tribulation); the other is eternal protection (being in heaven during that time). Which meaning does 'from” )ek) support? The answer is either if the preposition is considered alone. But, for the record, let it be said that ek does denote a position outside something without implying a prior position inside and then emergence from within. The pretribulationalist understanding of ek is supported by a number of verses that have nothing to do with the rapture and therefore do not beg the question.” Charles Ryrie What You Should Know About the Rapture, Current Christian Issues. (#amazonaffiliate As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”)

Because I am asked very frequently lately:

No. I do not think we are in the end times because the Rapture has not occurred. I do believe the stage is being set for the Tribulation so when the Paraclete (aka Holy Spirit, Restrainer) is removed things can quickly fall into place. Pay attention: The evil ones of this world know what time it is, and they are telling us by their behavior.

Dear Reader, If you were on a boat that was sinking, would you help hand out life preservers? If you are a Christian, I encourage you to take every opportunity you can to share the gospel. There are many, many ways to do this both directly and indirectly. You can't claim to love Jesus (John 14:15) and have a careless attitude about people. If you are not a Christian, I encourage you to accept Jesus' free gift today. My love to all!

Please pray for our local artist, Chuck.

Chuck Dickerson is our local artist. For those of you who do not remember my previous posts regarding him, Chuck lost his arms in a motorcycle accident when he was a young man. He paints some very pretty scenes with prosthetic arms, and after years of trying, I am thankful to finally own one of them. Tragedy has befallen our community's beloved artist.

Sadly, Chuck's 17 year old son was killed in an accident yesterday. Please keep Chuck and all of Cameron's loved ones in prayer. Please pray the young people in our community to wake up to their need for Christ through this tragedy.

it is the unbeliever who is caught off guard

It took me a while to get this done. Someone asked another question which I hope to address soon.

I Thessalonians 5:1-3 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Why does Paul tell the Thessalonians that they have no need for Paul to write to them about the times (chronos) and seasons (kairos)? They already knew these things because Paul taught them prophecy when he was with them for six months. He taught new believers about prophecy. This contrasts sharply with how pastors today skip the very in-depth prophecy teaching in our churches. Many people cannot even get their questions answered clearly when they ask their pastors and church leaders. I believe this is why the church is so unaware and apathetic about evangelism. If you were frequently being reminded that your boss was coming soon, wouldn't you get things ship-shape at work? The same applies to teaching prophecy. If you are continually reminded the Lord is coming soon by learning prophecy, you want to warn others to prepare for His coming.

As a young Christian, I was actually taught that the Rapture is what is being referred to as a thief in the night. I wondered why something good (Jesus coming for His bride) was being called something bad (a thief in the night). The distinction made below is important. When we realize how the unsaved will be caught off guard and will be left with no way out, we have a stronger desire to evangelize...

The 'thief' idea in relation to a coming of Christ is used seven times and only in the New Testament (Matt 24:43, Luke 12:39, I Thes 5:2, 4, 2 Peter 3:10, Rev 3:3, 16:15)... The thief in the night imagery never applies to the rapture. Such language usually is descriptive of unbelievers and God's wrath or judgment related to the tribulation or second coming. The picture painted by a thief in the night shows it is the unbeliever who is caught off guard since he never really believes God is going to judge in history. The unbeliever thinks he has gotten away with ignoring God all his life, therefore, the Lord is a non-factor, he thinks. The point of the Bible is: “Boy is he in for a big surprise one day.' Just like an individual who is robbed by a thief. When one is robbed, it is an event that disrupts the normal status of coming home every day in the past to a house that is as it should be. Like the slothful student who is never ready for the exam, and therefore, caught off guard when it actually comes, so the unbeliever will never be ready since he either does not believe God at all or does not believe that God will ever hold him accountable. ” -Thomas Ice A Thief in the Night pre-trib.org

We know this is the unsaved's reaction by the words "when they shall say" which means "while they say." This is a distinct change from the word “you” (meaning the Church) which is used in the first part of the verse. The imagery of a thief in the night will be the reaction of the unsaved world after the Church has been snatched away by our Groom. You can't call Jesus a thief because He isn't stealing. He is coming for His rightful bride. A thief in the night is not the view of the Church because we will be experiencing great joy. It is not only we, the Church that will be taken. The opportunity for the unsaved to repent and escape the Tribulation will suddenly end. And, let's assign blame in the correct place. It is their rebellion that causes them to lose the opportunity to escape the Tribulation. Right now, salvation is a free gift.

then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child”

Childbirth is a process that comes at the right time. Once it starts, generally speaking, it cannot be stopped. When the birth pangs start, they increase with intensity and frequency. That is what will overtake the world as a thief in the night. Paul says this “They will not escape.”

they shall not (ou me) escape.

In Greek when you have a double negation, it is saying absolutely no way. It is the strongest negation you can have in the Greek language. Ou me, a double negative in Greek, tells us escape is not at all possible. By their own rebellion, they are doomed to go through the Tribulation. Revelation tells us 50% of the population of the earth will die by chapter 9.

When someone robs your home, it changes your world. You feel violated and vulnerable. You realize the security you had was just an illusion. Imagine how much the world will be shaken after the Rapture of the Church.

Dear Reader, What perspective will you have? Will it be the one of a bride? or of a homeowner who had his house robbed? If you aren't sure, send me an email through the link in the header.

"Knowledge of the Bible never comes by intuition. It can only be obtained by diligent, regular, daily, attentive, wakeful reading. Do we grudge the time and trouble this will cost us? If we do, we are not yet fit for the kingdom of God." -J.C. Ryle

How will you differentiate between Christ and false Christs if you do not take the time to read and know who He is?

Tucked Away with Him

I am once again in my beautiful little hiding spot along the East River for what has become my monthly weekend alone with the Lord. Over the last 4-5 years, this has been something I not only long deeply for but have also grown to love. This is a special time with the One Who loves me as I was, as I am, as I will be.

Today, I am doing an exegesis on John 14:1-4 which I believe is Jesus talking about the Rapture of the Church.

But here in John 14, the Lord gives new and unique revelation; He speaks of something no prophet has promised, or could even promise. Where is it written that this Messiah would come and instead of gathering His saints to an earthly Jerusalem, would take them to His Father's house, to the very place where He is? It is something new.”

I use to...

...write it on their school lessons or post it around the house. Now, I send texts.

Considering how short life can be, I don't believe we can say these three words enough.

Please Pray for My Son's Safety

Nov 11: This situation has been handled in a way that B is not at risk. I wonder if the whole reason all of this came about was to highlight this man's need for Christ. Please pray for him.

Nov 4: Please pray for a family member's safety over the next few weeks.

(details removed for safety)

The security team has taken steps to separate B from this as much as they were able.

I am proud of B for being willing and for having the skills to help in something like this. He may be helping prevent something horrific. The first thing B asked prayer for was the man's soul. That definitely needs prayer.

Thank you for the prayers you lift regarding this situation.

Congratulations, Chris!!

Congratulations, Chris!

We are very happy for you and your fiance Mary! We look forward to the pictures! Brandon wants to travel to see the wedding. We will see what is being allowed at that time.

Our entire family, your adopted American family, wishes you both the very best!

I guess I am going to have to send over some taco shells, seasonings, and the Asbell Family Taco recipe.

Our love to you, Mary, and your family!

Emily Joy

EmilyJoy2

This young lady right here could run the entire farm without me. She has really come into her own and is very responsible and hardworking. She accepts correction with a humble spirit and is so willing to change herself to glorify God. She has a great sense of humor and sometimes can't speak for laughing which makes her fun, fun, fun!! to be around. I love how God has worked in her life and am so thankful He allowed me to be her mother. I am so enjoying this season of life with THREE TEENAGE daughters!

Some of ya'll don't miss much! You're right! Hannah isn't OFFICIALLY a teenager until the end of next month, but still....I am really enjoying this season!

Even children show what they are like by the things they do.
You can see if their actions are pure and right.

Pressure Canning Up a Storm

So far this week, my three youngest girls and I have canned 128 pints of roast beef. Tomorrow, we will do at least 64 more. I hope to finish it with another 64 pints on Friday.

I buy huge hunks of beef to save on the cost. All of the beef, potatoes, onions, carrots, and celery are cut up by hand in our kitchen. I almost all of that myself. I did not slow down to add up the pounds of vegetables, but it is a large amount. It's a labor of love to have "healthy fast food" on the shelves for the ones I love. I feel good knowing they are being fed healthy meals without preservatives, artificial colors or flavorings, high sodium, added sugar, and etc.

If you think that is a lot, divide that by nine family members and a few elderly neighbors. It does not last long in a family our size, but it keeps everyone well-nourished. I also give a few dozen jars away as Christmas gifts.

After this, I need to can some dry beans. It is so much cheaper to can them yourself. You add a measure of dry beans depending on jar size, seasonings (optional), and fill with water or broth. The beans cook in the canner and fill the jar. I open them when needed and dump them in the pot. This saves me from having to soak and cook them for recipes.

I hope to do some Turmeric Chicken Soup and maybe some of my infamous Nuclear Soup. Then, I will make some chicken pot pie filling and make and freeze some pie crusts for those. I hope to get enough sourdough bread baked this winter and early spring to last through our warm months. I will have an abundance of pork to preserve soon also. I am not sure what I will do after I reach those meal prepping goals. I am hoping I can fill the shelves enough before now and mid-December to keep everyone supplied until early spring.

I am also deep cleaning, winterizing, building a shed, and cleaning out a huge shed. I am moving my rabbits from a colony approach to separate pens. I am closing down our garden (still getting produce as of today) and preserving that food. I have to go back and forth to help out at a couple of other houses. Homeschooling is in session. Winter clothing repairs and alterations are being made as I get time. The incubator hatches its last batch of eggs on November 8th. I am learning how to alter/fuse plastic with a heat gun. My feet hit the floor running, and I drop into the bed around 10. The days are quite full, and my heart is happy!

My love to all!

Do you know someone who has been hit hard by life?

Call them.

Drop off a basket of goodies on their porch.

Take them to lunch.

Give them a hug.

Text them "I LOVE YOU!"

Tell them three things you love about them.

Send them a letter or card to brighten their day.

Share something from God's Word with them.

Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to pray for them daily.

Send them a gift card to a grocery store.

Hit them hard with the love of Jesus.

We are His hands and feet!

You have an opportunity to mark a moment in their life for Jesus.

Jesus wants to use YOU in their life.

Dear Reader, What a blessing it is to know that Jesus allows us to be a part of His ministry to others. We are not doing that if we are focused on ourselves. We have to slow down and take in what is happening to the people He has placed in our lives. Take action where you see a need. Show Jesus' love to someone today.

My baby girl isn't such a baby anymore.
She turns 13 this year.

These days, Hannah carries around her sweet puppy, Mercury, nearly everywhere she goes. Mercury is a red merle chihuahua puppy with AKC grand championship lines.
