Natural Syrups
How many times do you drain canned fruit and toss the liquids?Why not make flavored syrup for pancakes, French toast andwaffles? Just add sugar, boil to make a syrup and store ituntil needed in the refrigerator. We also use the liquid from"canned in its own juice" fruit for a refreshing quick pick-me-up. When draining blueberries to make blueberry muffins,save that liquid. Add a little sugar and boil, and you haveblueberry syrup! We like to heat these syrups just beforepouring them on our breakfast.
