Making a Way for Ducklings

 photo khakicampbell_zps2fd4a506.jpg

We added five Khaki Campbell ducklings to our farm.
Hopefully we will get a breeding pair out of the five. They are known for being good dual purpose ducks and are known for their excellent egg production. The breed goes back to the 1800s when Mrs. Campbell was trying to develop a duck that produced plenty of eggs, but also kept her husband and son in roasts. They are on the American Livestock Conservancy Watch List, and we are thrilled to help increase the numbers of this breed. We are intending to raise them for our own organic eggs and organic meat, egg sales, duckling sales, and breeding trio sales.
