I love how everyone in our family is so eager to keep bitterness and resentment from taking root in their hearts. We don't want to harbor ill will in our hearts because we know that will lead to sin.
Our family likes leaving flowers as a physical reminder to ourselves of our commitment to remember the good qualities and let go of the bad memories. It is also our only way of giving our children happy moments attached to their grandmother's name. It's not a perfect story, but no one's is. We are trying to make the most of what God has given us and use it for His glory in the lives of our children. When our children look back and see these pictures, we hope they see their parents tried to live with genuine forgiveness, a desire for restoration, and did not seek to harbor bitterness in their hearts.
James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
