What if you get to the end of this life and learn those people and situations that you had mean thoughts towards, judged harshly, gossiped about, opposed so fiercely, wrote letters of scorn to, tried to get even with...
were completely different than what you thought you knew?
Maybe you were lied to or you made assumptions and came to the wrong conclusions. Maybe you never heard both sides of the story. Maybe you were manipulated into believing what you do about the person or situation.
Who but God can see the entire picture?
Would you grieve heavily in your spirit if you knew those unkind attitudes, words, and actions of yours in your self righteousness caused harm to others? or learned how much your self righteousness cost you and your family in your spiritual walk?
Are you more anguished by your own sins than you are angered over someone else's?
This life is not a game.
Walk circumspectly with the goal in mind.
You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Romans 14:10-13
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them." John 14:21
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
