orangeslices

Dehydrated orange slices pack a big punch of Vitamin C and have a delightfully strong orange flavor. Yes, you can eat the rind too. In fact, there is three times more Vitamin C in the rind, and you get other nutrients from the rind too. If you can't handle the strong taste, the slices can be food processed into bits to put into muffins, etc. Powder them to add a little to soups and sauces. Yummy!

Our gang loves them, and we make them when oranges go on sale. I love the way they look in the jars and how they add color to our home on dreary winter days. The whole house smells wonderful while they are drying. I also like that we are getting more nutrition for our dollar, and nothing is wasted. They don't last long, but they are worth making due to the nutrition.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Matthew 7:17-18
