Another Trail, Another Adventure!

 

    

This is another one of our many recent 4WD journeys. This time, however, I had my Canon instead of my phone.

Three people: "You can't do that road in a stock suburban." One person: "You are brave if you are going down that road in THAT!!" Clint: "Move aside and watch me." We had to wait for a couple to turn around because the first 100 yards scared them. It took them 45 minutes to do that 100 yards. Besides them, we saw a few motocross bikes, a nice young couple in a Jeep, and an older couple on a four-wheeler. For most of the trail, we had it to ourselves.

We had a BLAST! This was the worst part of the road, and the suburban scraped just a little. That's OK. No damage was done, and now there's slightly more clearance for the next driver! We did it alone and had no issues with the trail at all. We met one of the men who told us we couldn't do it at the bottom of the trail. He said Clint was one heck of a driver!

We have been able to do many trails people did not think a stock suburban could do. The key is tire placement. Clint will study the rocks and find his path through. Then he takes it easy.

For our rock crawling friends, there are some great picture-taking opportunities on this trail. For overlanders and campers, there are some very nice, very large campsites.

Clint and I just like to go for the remoteness and scenery. As someone very strong in naturalistic intelligence, I thoroughly enjoy "getting away" from it all. To be honest, I need to do it ever now and again. It recharges me. I enjoy observing the changes in the topography and flora and fauna. I use to collect different kinds of rocks, so I pay attention to things like that. I also enjoy finding medicinal and edible plants and mushrooms. There is plenty of history to enjoy in the places we go too.

There are many unmapped 4WD and hiking trails off of this area that we did not have a chance to explore, so Lord willing, we're going back! We took one ridge that had hip to waist-high grass in the middle. It appeared no one had been down there in ages. It gets quite narrow with very sheer drops on either side. We had to pull in our mirrors to fit in some places. At the end is a small grassy field where you can turn around. It was filled with flowers, bees, and butterflies. As we explored we walked through hundreds of busy bees, and they never bothered us.

There was very spotty cell phone reception. If you get stuck, you might have to walk a mile or two to get reception. There were no running creeks or streams for water when we went. Everything we did see lower on the mountain that might have had water was very dry due to the drought. If you plan to camp, you need to bring all of the water you need with you. There is plenty of firewood to gather. All of the campsites except the few on the knob had plenty of privacy.

We will probably head to Ferrum soon for business. We'll see if we can find any places to explore there.

Location: I-81 to exit #235 on to route 256 west , north on route 11, west on route 727, north on route 613, west on route 257, this turns into route 924 west, which becomes a ridge road up to the intersection for Forest Road 85A / Flag Pole Road. Please pray for our good friend Eddie. He is nearing the end of his assignment on this earth. He has stage 4 lung cancer. His wife told me last night they think that his cancer has moved into his bones. There are changes daily. He is more often tired and eating less. We were told before others so we could get prayers started. They will be telling family and other friends over the next few days. 

Please pray that a health issue for one of our family members resolves itself without needing intervention. If it were to worsen, it could be life-threatening. At this point, it is not. We are keeping a very close eye on it. It is not CoVid. 

I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.

Something is wrong in my Christian walk.

Why I Believe in a Pre-Trib Rapture

Quite often lately, I've been asked if I believe in the Rapture of the Church and when do I think it will happen. It just so happens, I started writing a post like this years ago when I started noticing changes occurring in our world pointing to the end times being very close. For some reason, I left it in my drafts and never finished it. I've been working on this in little bits of time in a very busy season. I apologize for spelling and grammatical errors.

I have prayerfully studied the differing viewpoints numerous times over the course of my life. Every time I delve into it, I come away more convinced of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Now, I could be wrong. I might be missing something or blinded by something. My fallible self is why I am encouraging you seek the Lord on your own and do your own Bible study. He should be the source you seek.

I want to point out that I am sharing only some of my notes on the topic. I realize the individual notes on the different points themselves are brief, but maybe that will encourage you to pray for wisdom and understanding and do your own research and Bible studies into the different points. I had work planned, but I put that aside so I could finish writing this for those who have been asking.

First, I want to make sure that you realize the word rapture is in the Bible. In I Thessalonians 4:17, the words "caught up" are translated into Latin as raptere which is where we get the word rapture. In Latin, it means "to seize and carry off." In Greek, it is harpazo which means "to take/snatch away." This is the same word used to describe Paul being "caught up" to Heaven in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4. I feel the two verses are clearly talking about people being very quickly relocated from the earth.

Jesus' own words make me believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. 

In Luke 17 Jesus points out that wrath came after Noah and Lot were safe. Notice that the wrath came immediately after their safety. Jesus tells us it will be like those days. He includes that the righteous were protected and then judgment came.

In Luke 21, Jesus tells us the same generation will see both Israel reborn as a nation and witness the end times. Someone born in 1948, when Israel became a nation again, is 73 years old today. The average lifespan of one generation is 70-80 years. In that same passage, Jesus also explains what will happen in the end times and then He says: 

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unaware. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:34-36

The word worthy in this verse is translated from the Greek word "kataxioō" which means to deem entirely deserving: - (ac-) count worthy. 

What will we escape? "ALL these things." 

Do you also see the warning? Once the Church is raptured, it will be like a trap has closed on those left behind on the earth. Think of the door being closed on the ark. The people outside of the safe place were trapped to go through God's judgment which was the flood. Once the Rapture occurs, no one else will be able to escape the Tribulation.  

Right now, everyone has a choice. We can repent of our sins and accept His blood atonement. Once that Rapture occurs, there will be no escaping. Would Jesus tell us to pray for an escape if we can not escape it but we needed to endure it instead?

Reflect on the story of the 10 Virgins. Some Christians do not have their souls (lamps) prepared. Some want Jesus as a Savior and never make Him their Lord. Is He truly your Lord? Are you living as a diligent servant expecting your King to return suddenly? Pray that you may be worthy to ESCAPE. 

Revelation 3:10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

I Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

The Rapture is sudden (twinkling of an eye) and stealthy (unknown time) (like a thief in the night). It involves Christians who are prepared (Parable of the Virgins). The Second Coming does not happen in a twinkling of an eye, and it is easy to pinpoint when it will happen. It is very public. Everyone will see Him. Matthew 24:29-31

The restraining nature of the Holy Spirit who lives inside believers also points to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. This is called the "indwelling of the Holy Spirit." Very clearly today, we can see evil bulging at the doors. If you are paying close attention, you can see goalposts by the other team being moved further and further back. What's holding evil from running rampant? What has to happen before the end time timeline begins?

2 Thessalonians 2:6-8

And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.  For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. I Thessalonians 5:1-11

I don't find going through the worst period of trouble on the earth very comforting, do you? But, I do find a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the church very, very comforting.

God has a pattern of removing His people before He unleashes His wrath. Why would He treat us any less than them?

Noah and his family were removed from society and saved from God's judgment on the earth through the ark. They got into the ark BEFORE it started raining. Jesus is our ark saving us. 

Lot and his family were removed from their society and saved from God's judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot was told by the angel to hurry up because the angel could not do anything to Sodom until Lot had arrived at the safe destination. Genesis 19:21-22.

We are told in Scripture we are not appointed for wrath. The word appointed here is also translated "to place." What I get from it is that we are not in the place of or in the way of His coming wrath. It's not meant for us. If we are not in the way of His wrath, then we have to be removed just as we see others being removed in other Biblical instances.

Some maintain the Church has to go through the wrath and judgment to be good enough to go to Heaven. Gently said, to me, that is like saying the work on the Cross was not complete.

A study of the holy feasts as a prophetic outline of future events: Four feasts happen in the spring (early in the timeline) and three happen in the fall (later in the timeline.) 

These teachings that are hidden and found by those who search them out are one of the reasons I love studying the Word. There is the surface reading you can do, and then there are layers upon layers of learning for the diligent seeking Him. This lifetime is not long enough for all He has to teach us in His Word.

Spring:

1. Passover: Jesus' sacrifice for us, the Crucifixion happened
2. Unleavened Bread: removal of sin, Jesus buried on this day
3. First Fruits: Jesus' resurrection, Jesus is called the first fruit in I Cor. 15:20-23
4. Pentecost: 50 days after the Feast of First Fruits, this is when the Holy Spirit fell on the people in the upper room to birth the Church.

Fall: 

5. Trumpets: the blowing of the trumpets/shofar in a feast that goes from sundown on one day to sundown two days later. A lot of Christians believe Jesus will return on these feast days but they do not know the year, day, or time. 

a. Shofars are blown 100x using 9 sessions 11xs each = 99 which leaves one last final blast. The 100th blowing of the shofar is the longest and loudest. No one knows the day or time it will be blown. 

b. There are many names for the Feast of Trumpets. These names also give us clues to the prophetic timeline: Wedding Day of the Messiah (Rapture-Jesus coming for His Bride), Yom Teruah the Day of the Awakening Blast (dead will awaken I Thes 4:13-18), Rosh Hashanah aka the beginning of civil New Year points to a new beginning with Christ. 

The Feast of Trumpets in Jesus's Day was also called The Day Which No One Knows which would have been a name known by the disciples as they listened to Jesus say, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Matthew 24:36. Both the name and the verse point us to a Jewish wedding where a groom would find a bride and before he could marry her, he would go away to make a place for them to live. The groom could not go get his bride until his father approved the dwelling and gave him permission. There are other names for the Feast of Trumpets, but I only chose to cover a few here for space and time reasons.

6. Atonement: 10 days after the Feast of Trumpets and this points to the Second Coming of Christ.

7. Tabernacles: 5 days later, 7 days long, this is where Jews live for seven days in booths signifying they will dwell with the Lord forever. This feast points us to eternity with our Lord and Savior. This feast is in the 7th month, is 7 days long, and is the 7th feast. 7 is the number of completion.

The Rapture vs The Second Coming

Wedding Language: These are just random thoughts I've had while reflecting on things.

Jesus is coming for His Bride..the Church. Does a bridegroom, who loves His bride so much that He would die for her, knowingly allow His bride to be attacked and abused by His enemies before the wedding? Or, does he put her someplace safe?

A wedding is a happy celebration. It is an event you look forward to with joy and anticipation. If the Rapture is not before the Tribulation, then we're not really looking forward to it with eager anticipation. We'd be exhausted, anxious, and desperate for His return mid-Trib and post-Trib. Exhausted, anxious, and desperate doesn't exactly make for a pretty or happy bride at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, does it?

Jesus is not mad at his Church. He loves His Bride. He showed us how He values us when He died for us.

I do not believe we are in the prophetic timeline yet, but I do believe we are seeing a foreshadowing of what is to come. I believe the other side is putting things into place and doing trial runs for once the Rapture occurs. They know the hour too! They are telling us the hour by their behavior!

I believe the Rapture of the Church is the next prophetic event. If you do not agree with me, I ask that you pray the Lord will show me His Truth through His Word. I am continually asking Him to remove any blinders from my life and ask for His wisdom and leading as I study. I fully trust Him to impart His wisdom and knowledge to me. 

I believe after the Rapture people on this earth will be called upon to give allegiance to God's enemy. That will be a final decision. I have a few theories based on emerging info about technology and why that might be.

Do I believe we will go through difficulty because of sin and evil between now and the Rapture of the Church? Yes, I do. I believe we are already seeing that, and it will continue to grow worse. I believe we will witness great sorrow and suffering in the US as well. This will serve to shake awake the sleeping Christians and help others find salvation through Jesus so they can escape.

I am a lifelong Bible student and am very thankful to God for leading my parents to pay for me to attend a Christian school where I learned so much from strong Christians who are still in my life today. I've been here a while. I've seen the pattern. Stock up at lower prices while you can. If the businesses are doing this, and they are, and it is being called a good financial move, then it is a good move for you and I also. 

I am not arguing the necessity of the increase. I am saying I've seen how one thing leads to another.

Speculation only, but it could get to where some or most of us can not find or purchase all we need for one week. In that instance, we will need to supplement from our garden or stored foods. Make sure you look after the shut-ins in your neighborhood and circle of friends.

In one community I am in, people are already bartering for goods. One person can't find a needed item. Another has plenty, so they make an exchange to help each other out. Keep this in mind as we go forward. 

There is a whole gamut of emotions going through most of us. Prices on everything, lockdowns, viruses, election battles, supply issues, Taiwan, Afghanistan, protests all over, natural disasters, and much more. When the news is stealing your peace, it is time to step back and spend time with the Lord. Reflect on WHO He is and what He has promised us. Reflect on who we are in Him. Memorize a verse that comforts you. -->Speak His truth out loud.<--Remember every step we take forward takes us closer to eternity with Him. We just have to get through this last part. I do not know how bad it is going to get, but I know what comes after. Better yet, I know WHO is coming! Maranatha! My love to all!

Practice now.

You can't teach someone to swim while they are drowning because their fear will prevent them from learning. You have to teach them to swim before the crisis occurs so the training will kick in when needed. Work now to manage your fear so it is easier to manage later, in case bigger things are ahead. Prepare your body, mind, and soul. Prepare your family and home. Your mental state is very crucial to your outcome.

I am of the conviction that most of our issues with runaway fear come from having our focus in the wrong place. Faith is expecting God to act on our behalf, but fear is watching what the devil is doing. Where is your focus?

Extracting Capsaicin From Serrano Peppers

 

 

 

I purchased five pounds of serrano peppers. After they were sliced and placed on the dehydrator I used alcohol to extract the capsaicin from the part that is normally thrown away. I use this in a liniment I make with other herbs to relieve pain and speed the healing of deep muscle strains and sprains. Within 10 minutes we could see the alcohol extracting properties from the leftover bits. It's really cool to watch it start and then grow darker.

We already invested our money in the peppers. Why not be a good steward and get all we can use out of them? I saved the seeds from the six largest peppers too. In three weeks, I will have seeds to share. Next spring, I can sell some of the plants I start to more than recover the cost of the peppers. (The five pounds was $3.20 from the big box W.) That's like getting free food and medicine. It took me about 15 minutes to slice the peppers and another 5 to start the liniment. "Waste not, want not."

Dear Reader, Peppers can leave your mouth on fire, but I know something even hotter. I know Someone who put my soul on fire! I encourage you to get to know Him. If you already know Him, I am praying for you and me to get to know Him even better. May we boldly preach His name wherever we go! My love to all!

While everyone is arguing about if the vaccine should be forced or free choice, these poor people have been harmed and are not being represented. They need a voice and a plan to restore their health.

If you look in the Greek text for the word love in the verse above you will see this is the word "agape" which is the word for Godly love. 

From childhood on, I was taught many, many times this verse meant the world would grow colder. As a young woman, I did a Bible study that revealed the truth of this verse was far different than what I was being taught.

Think about it. The world doesn't have "godly" love. 

Agape is the love the redeemed is to example.

Jesus is saying the agape love of CHRISTIANS will grow colder.

It is chilling if you stop a second and think about the implications.

Agape is the love that the Holy Spirit gives those who are redeemed. (Romans 5:5-8) It is the love that not only allows, but compels, us as Christians to forgive and overlook the worst and example God's grace to those who have hurt us. It is the love the motivates us to give sacrificially. It is the love that makes us stand out as different from the world and gives testimony to what Jesus has done in our lives. If agape love is gone, we have lost our DIFFERENCE in this world. We no longer stand out to a lost world. That's tragic!

We must remember there is more to this life than what is visible right now and the stakes are very high.  

Dear Reader, One thing I have been praying for is that as I grow older, I will grow stronger in godly love so I can be a beacon that points the way to Jesus. Let us pray for ourselves and each other that instead of growing cold in godly love, that God will have us grow bolder in His love so we can have a stronger testimony for His glory. He has done so very much for us and deserves our total commitment to Him. Let's run the race well!

John 5:1-3 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

Because I was asked: How long are home canned food good for?

I have been answering this one off and on for over 25 years. Lately, as more and more people are stocking their pantries, it has been asked a lot. 

How long are home canned foods good for?

The 1-year shelf life you hear about is actually a "best use" date meaning quality (could be texture or color or nutritional) not safety.

If you followed safe canning protocols (preparation, cleanliness, canning times)

and

the seal is intact,

it is safe to eat.

Color does not determine safety. Color change is normal for some foods and particularly for some above the liquid line. 

I also use my senses which is the same practice I follow for grocery store goods. Did I hear the breaking of a vacuum seal? Does it smell OK? Do I see any defects in packaging or mold or etc? Does it taste OK?

While we were on one of our mountain adventures, I heard the seal break on one of my jars of hamburger. We were descending quickly so I knew it was due to the rapid pressure change. I knew it was good to eat unrefrigerated within 24 hours. So, when we stopped for lunch the next day, I found that jar and used it right away. 

The already cooked hamburger was a fast way to have a mountain top meal. We opened a can of sloppy joe mix, heated it up over a campfire in our dutch oven, and had chips with it. When I got home, I checked the seals on the few jars of chicken we had leftover before I put them away. They were all intact.

Update 8/16: He got it home. Thank you for the prayers! Please keep praying for his daughter Samantha and the rest of the family. She is the one whose baby died due to premature labor.

Update 8/10: Larry has a plan to go get it this weekend. Please pray all goes well for him. He will be alone this time.

Update 8/5: They are back home. It's in NY, not PA. I misunderstood the location. Larry has not come up with a plan yet. Please pray he can figure out a way to get it home. Larry bought it for a project vehicle. He builds really cool cars.

8/2: Clint's co-workers are trying to get a fire engine home from Pennsylvania. The fire engine was purchased for a project. After only a mile, the very large tow dolly they were using broke under the weight. The people in the town were kind and helpful to them. Please pray they can find a solution soon. 

Prayer Request Updates Katherine and Kenny

August 16: There is a big snag. Kevin's home (the one he is trying to sell) has an issue with the septic drain lines. He is willing to leave money in escrow for the repairs to keep all involved parties moving forward. He can not get an engineer out until Friday. (An engineer is required to see the best way to install the new lines and probably a new system altogether. Lots of red tape.) Then the plans have to be drawn and submitted and approved by the county. Then he has to get an estimate for the repairs. So far everyone is willing to wait. Please pray God knocks down the hurdles.

August 2: The septic and well inspection passed. The home inspection found rotten sills that need to be replaced. Sills are the boards that go down on top of the foundation. Kevin is asking us to pray the homeowners will repair them.

July 26: Kevin asks that we pray the inspections on the well, septic, and home go well.

July 21: Kevin thanks you for the prayers! After weeks of looking, he told Clint that he has signed a contract on a home and things look good for the contract to be ratified. His home also has a contract on it. Katherine is doing very well. It has been such a blessing to see this young girl go from the depths of despair and self-destruction to having hope and looking forward to a bright future. She still has some tough things to work through, but she is much improved. Please keep praying for Katherine's mother. She has her own mental health struggles and reasons for blocking Katherine's treatments. Blocking the medical treatment for Katherine is what started the divorce and battle in court. Katherine was cutting herself to the extent the doctors and her father thought she'd die. The details of how she harmed herself that were shared with us were very, very disturbing. It is heart-rending to think of anyone in that much pain. Katherine is getting the help she needs, and it is working well for her. Also, Katherine's strength is really becoming apparent as she leaves behind that state of brokenness and continues to reach for more healing. May the Lord continue to work in the lives of this family.

July 7: Last week, the final custody hearing happened. Kevin has custody after he sells his home. Some of Katherine's trauma is centered around that house, so he is required to purchase or rent a new home. He already has a contract on his house and is searching for one to buy. Please join us in praying he is able to buy a home quickly and rejoicing that he has custody. Katherine seems to be doing well. She has not cut herself anymore and seems very happy with the court rulings. Please keep praying for her wellness of mind, body, and soul.

For the 4th, we were able to spend some time with our favorite veteran. Mr. Reese still has not had his surgery to free his locked knee joints. His knee cap on one leg is about two inches over where the knee cap goes. The knee cap on the other leg is on the inside of the joint. Doctors can not explain how this happened to him. His next appointment is in August. He was told he will get a surgery date then, but he's been told that before. He enjoyed the food and the company we gave him over two days. Please join us in prayer that Mr. Reese will surrender his life to Christ.

Peter's Mill Run, Taskers Gap, Coal Road (Off Road 4x4 4WD OHV) Trails

Brandon, Amanda, Emily, Hannah, Clint, and I did the Peters Mill Run, Taskers Gap, and Coal Road 4x4 trails all in one weekend. The hardest, as far as rocky trails, off-camber turns, and switchbacks, was Coal Road which is still fairly easy in a 4WD vehicle. There were very few other vehicles on the trails which made it nice for us.

Coal Road's Jeep Trail is free, but Peters Mill Run and Taskers Gap require a paid permit. All of them were wide enough for our 4x4 Suburban.

At the time we went, Peters Mill Run had one huge pothole that was a "frame twister." There was no way to go around it, so we had a spotter help get us through it. We still ended up on three tires, but there was no damage to our Suburban.

Taskers Gap became a little confusing at the end. The markers for some trails had two layers of paint in two different colors which made it hard to tell what was the 4x4 road and what was ATV only. it looked as if someone had gone back to correct a mistake in marking the trees. Regarding that...

Did you know a Suburban can get 1/2 a mile down a narrow ATV trail? Did you know you can back said Suburban around tight turns and many trees on a narrow trail? And, in case you are wondering, a Suburban can also do a 5 point turn on that narrow ATV trail if you let your back bumper eat a little mountain and allow your front bumper to gently tap a tree. That was a wrong turn that led to much laughter!

We have traveled Coal Road numerous times and enjoy the slippery boulders, off-camber turns, boulders to navigate around, and the many switchbacks. Peters Mill Run and Taskers Gap offer some minor challenges to novice drivers and have beautiful scenery. 

I wish I could spend some time in a hammock in the fern carpeted forest. Somewhere along the way, there was a boulder bigger than our suburban that looked like a king's throne. We found a hole in the boulders on one side of the road that seemed to have no bottom. No one would dare put their arm down it to hold their phone's camera to see what we could see.

We had a lot of fun doing all three in one weekend. They are all relatively easy for mindful drivers with 4WD. We had lunch, plenty of drinks, and tp packed. I always have a well-stocked first aid kit packed. We also took leashes and bowls for our dogs. 

*I had a ton of pictures of these trails, but I lost them in when trying to transfer them from my phone to my computer. Even our very computer literate son was unable to retrieve them. 

When you find something good, you want to share it.

This is a kit I have in my suburban. It contains different types of gospel tracts and some sandwich bags. I use the sandwich bags when I am leaving them outdoors. Even if it is not going to rain, they can still get wet from the morning dew. If it is windy, I add a small rock to the bag or place the bag under something heavy that will likely get moved. 

Clint and I have been leaving tracts behind to help others find Jesus since very early in our marriage. We pray over them before we put them out asking God to let them do His work and to prepare the heart of the person who finds it. This is an inexpensive personal ministry and non-confrontational way to share the gospel.

Dear Reader, Time on this earth is looking very short. We need to share the gospel as much as we can everywhere we can while we still have the honor and opportunity. What a blessing it is for us to be able to share the good news of Jesus!

The July Consumer Price Index (CPI) data came out this week. For the first time, the numbers were in line with expectations, leading many mainstream pundits to declare “transitory” inflation is already starting to cool down. Peter Schiff broke down the report in his podcast. He said inflation is far from cooling off. In fact, when it comes to rising prices, you haven’t seen anything yet. 

Peter also noted the Fed has changed the definition of “transitory.” It now only applies to the rate of inflation, not actual prices. The central bankers now concede these price increases are forever.

The increase in the cost of living is not transitory. It’s permanent. And the hope is, by the Fed, that after we get a big increase in our cost of living, the cost of living will continue to go up from that elevated level, but at the same rate that it was before we had this transitory period of high inflation. Which to me completely destroys any credibility the Fed has in claiming that they’ve successfully contained inflation at 2%.”
