Christians are not so much in danger when they are persecuted as when they are admired. -Charles Spurgeon
When Christians are admired, they may assume they are living well and stop working to grow closer to Christ. They may not realize their pride issues. When Christians are admired, they stop praying and seeking God's help.
When they are persecuted, they are calling upon God continuously. To die is gain for the Christian because it places us in the presence of the Lord. It's not about what happens to our body, but our soul that matters.
Luke 6:26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets
Psalms 10:4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
