I can't post every place we explored on our trip, but I was asked about this one.
Cumberland Mountain Trail aka Tower Road aka Cell Tower Road Cumberland, Tennessee
Most of these places have more than one name especially when talking with the locals. It can also vary depending on the map app you use. Clint uses around seven or eight different apps.
The marker for the road says 10 and Cumberland Mountain Trail. One off road app called this road Cell Tower Road. The locals called it a few different names. The marker says it can be used by ATVs, dirt bikes, 4WD vehicles, horseback riders, mountain bikers, and hikers.
On our trip, on this trail were mostly SxSs (side by sides) and one dirt biker. The trail is very worn in some areas. There were a few 4WD SUVs. We did not finish it. There were so many SxS held up behind one guy who appeared stuck or broken down. We turned around so we could stay on schedule. Easy road. Nothing too challenging. A regular pickup with a good driver could probably make it UP TO THE POINT we turned around. I do not know what is after that but it looked rockier. It had rained the day before and the clay was slippery in the Suburban on steep grades but nothing too bad. There is a very, very steep hill off of the road that the SxSs and lone dirt biker were using. That looked crazy. There was a memorial marker where a young man died in an accident on this very steep hill.
I saw a couple of places people had camped but I do not know if it is allowed there or not. My love to all. Safe and happy travels!
