Turmeric is so good for the body. Research shows it lowers blood pressure and blood sugar. It is an anti-inflammatory and can relieve pain and sinus congestion. It is a carminative meaning it can prevent and/or relieve flatulence and can treat colic in babies. It works as a choleretic by increasing the volume of bile from the liver which helps release and remove toxins from the body. Many of my friends with arthritis and chronic pain say it helps them. To make the most of the medicinal properties of turmeric, you need to use a good portion of black pepper.
