Speak the Truth to Those You Love

"When we speak the truth in love to other believers, God uses our words as loving spurs. We encourage Christian brothers and sisters to “hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering” (Hebrews 10:23).

Yes, we need to point out sin (Galatians 6:1).

And a million times yes, we need to remind each other that God alone “satisfies the longing soul” (Psalm 107:9).

Joy in him is the key to a life of obedience.

...

To be a follower of Christ is to be a fountain. Whether we sit across the table from a believer or an unbeliever, love that images Christ will shower others with gospel truth.

Sometimes, people will bask.

Sometimes, they will recoil.

And yet, if we consider an eternity spent with God worth more than sparing ourselves “light momentary” discomfort (2 Corinthians 4:17),

then in love we will speak the truth." source

REAL LOVE speaks the truth even when it might mean we could lose the relationship.

Today's Christians are wimpy. We avoid hard truths and want an easy ride. We don't want to offend anybody, but we ignore how the God we claim to serve is being offended.  We are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ. Are you representing well? When you see a Christian walking in sin, do you speak up with the Truth found in Scripture? Or, do you pretend not to see?

This world tickles our ears and puffs up our pride. God's Word is sharper than a double-edged sword and cuts right through to our minds and souls. It's powerful! It convicts and can change lives for eternity. God tells us His Word will accomplish His will

Will you boldly speak real love, godly love, into your loved ones' lives? Do you love them enough to do that?

This life is not a game. Time is short. Don't let them become a plaything for the evil in this world. Armor up! Fight back! Share the Word with love. Stand on God's Word. Pray continually. Watch God work. And, I know from experience, He will!

Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
I John 3:18

For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
